GENERAL DENTISTRY

General Dentistry is dental care for people of all ages and consists of preventative services, restorative services, cosmetic procedures, and overall oral health concerns. General dentistry focuses on establishing and maintaining good oral health for patients while taking care of dental problems as they arise. Dental Hygiene is the foundation for long term dental health.

CROWN

A Dental Crown is a “cap” that is place over a tooth to restore the tooth’s shape, size appearance and strength. Crowns can be used to cover a large filling, protect a weak tooth, hold a dental bridge, cover a dental implant, cover a root canal, and even for cosmetic purposes.

BRIDGES

A bridge consists of either a crown or an implant on either side of the missing teeth with a pontic in between them. Bridges can restore your smile, maintain the shape of your face, and help restore your ability to chew and speak. They can also help maintain the spacing of your remaining teeth.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are the replacement of a tooth that has been lost. Implants are a screw like device that are inserted into the bone and they naturally bond. An abutment is then placed on top of the implant and the final step is a crown that matches your natural teeth. Implants allow a more sturdy, permanent fix then a partial or bridge would.

DENTURES

A denture is a removable replacement for missing tooth and gum tissue. There are two types of dentures: a partial denture and a complete denture. Partial dentures are used when one or more of the natural teeth are still remaining. They generally consist of replacement teeth attached to a plastic base and it helps the remaining natural teeth stay in their current position. Complete dentures consist of conventional and immediate dentures. Conventional dentures are placed about 12 weeks after the original teeth have been pulled and the gums are healed. Immediate dentures are placed immediately after the original teeth are extracted.

ORAL SURGERY

Oral surgery refers to surgical procedures performed in or around the mouth. Oral surgery can include the extraction of impacted wisdom teeth and the placement of dental implants.

ROOT CANAL

A root canal is a dental procedure to save your current tooth. Dental pain can be caused by a failing tooth that can often be fixed with the treatment of a root canal. The pulp of the tooth is carefully cleaned out and disinfected then sealed. Most root canals are successful and provide extended life to the original tooth.

TOOTH WHITENING

Tooth whitening is a method to enhance your teeth’s natural shade of white. Zoom! Whitening by Phillips is an in-office method that provides optimal shades of white to your teeth. Home whitening kits allow you to continue whitening at home as well.
